Goodman welcomes leading fertility R&D unit to Oxford Business Park

18 April 2009

International property group Goodman Group (Goodman) has secured another high profile regional customer at Oxford Business Park. Oxford Fertility Unit Limited (OFU) has signed a 15 year lease at the Park, where it will establish the Institute of Reproductive Science. They will occupy 22,134 sq. ft. of high-quality commercial space.

The Oxford Fertility Unit is a national and international leader in research into fertility and the new Institute of Reproductive Science (IRS) will be a cutting edge Research & Development unit as well as a teaching facility for the University of Oxford. In combination with the University, the centre will also house an MSc course for students in Reproductive Biology. Agent Carter Jonas Commercial found the premises for OFU after a thorough search of the area.

OFU were attracted to Oxford Business Park as a business location as it offers accessibility to major transport infrastructure and superior on-site amenities. The park is in close proximity to the A34 and M40, and a regular bus service to the city centre and rail station. It provides excellent amenities including a David Lloyd Health & Fitness Club; a day nursery; a restaurant and hotel; an adjacent retail park with a selection of shops including Boots, a Tesco superstore, Marks & Spencer Simply Food and a petrol station. OFU will also benefit from relocating to a well managed environment.

James Raven, Goodman's Development Director, UK Business Parks commented: "We are really looking forward to welcoming the IRS to Oxford Business Park. This new agreement demonstrates Goodman's commitment to providing customers with complete property solutions, where we are able to meet the needs of large and small businesses, as well as more specialist premises such as those required by the Oxford Fertility Unit. Their new centre at the Park will be an important facility and we are very proud to be able to assist them in the important work they do."

This new premises will provide a state of the art workplace for our research and clinical team as well as superb teaching facility for our postgraduate students."

Scott Harkness from Carter Jonas Commercial added: "Oxford Fertility Unit Limited had very specific criteria for housing this specialist facility and the search required our knowledge and experience of the area. We are delighted to have helped them find this new home at Oxford Business Park."
